5 Signs To Prove That You Are Going Through A Burnout Phase If You Are A Blogger Or A Writer

5 signs to prove that you are going through a burnout phase

Every creative process is hard, especially when everyone in your vicinity is already getting the fame you want. At times, when you are working through such ideas to gain that name and fame, you’re in a rut.

You feel like you are good for nothing. Maybe you are finding no original idea to pitch or create content on.

That’s one of the signs to prove that you are going through a burnout phase. But often, you’re not aware of these symptoms. You’re not sure why you’re feeling this lethargy. As a result, you keep on procrastinating stuff.

Then, there comes a time when you have so much to do in your pipeline for the content to create on your professional profile. Though, you have no motivation to do so.

Therefore, this blog post for especially those new-age content creators who might not even know what they are feeling is actually normal. So, kindly pay attention to the signs I am discussing below.

If you’re feeling any of the below, we can talk it out together. Know that this is not permanent. You can solely work your way out of it.

For that to happen, though, you need to self-analyze your issues and cues. I will briefly discuss those solutions in this blog, apart from the signs to prove that you are going through burnout.

5 Signs To Prove That You Are Going Through A Burnout Phase Are As Mentioned Below:

You are not writing/researching daily.

Content creation is the fruit that you enjoy after ample research and practice. Be it any video blogger, content/copywriter. Without enough practice and research, you can’t just become a master of writing or creating juicy content each day.

not writing daily

At times, a content calendar helps fill the gap for you. But even for that, you need to continuously indulge in research to know what’s trending and what’s not.

However, if you are dilly-dallying, that’s one major sign that proves you are going through a burnout phase at present.

You feel like writing and researching are too hectic or boring at this moment. You might even convince yourself that you are totally done with it. You will often find yourself giving excuses that it’s time to delegate the research work to someone else.

But at the end of the day, you’re not even hiring anyone else to research on your behalf. So why are you doing this to yourself exactly?

This is actually quite a common symptom of going through a burnout phase. That occurs when you have overworked your brain. When that happens, the wheels in your mind literally slow down.

Also, another reason could be a distraction. If you are getting influenced by other content creators around you, that’s not a good sign. That’s because you are delaying the process of your original content creation.

You feel like you can do the pending work at any given time except right now.

One of the most overlooked signs to prove that you are going through a burnout phase is this one. This phase in your content creation life occurs when you are inching towards over-confidence. At this point in life, you are taking advantage of the time at hand.

If you are feeling this emotion, this means you’re growing bad at time management. And there can be various reasons for you not being friendly with your personal time.

It can be majorly due to the increase in online and digital platform competition. We know that every day one or another person is becoming viral. In this sense, it’s not easy to maintain a stable rank or CTRs online.

When we begin to avoid the increasing competition, overconfidence and a nonchalant attitude build up inside. That’s when you start feeling like you do a lot of work in a given time but end up not doing it at all.

This eventually hampers the quality, consistency, authenticity, and goodwill of your brand.

And before you realize the opportunity cost, you’ve already lost a lot of followers/subscribers/customer engagement. That’s majorly when you are not turning up as a brand image online with your blogger, writer, or content creator profile.

You feel like there’s too much content already out there.

It’s never a cakewalk to create content worthy of the audience’s attention and re-share. That’s when the niche you choose is highly competitive and reaches its maturity. At times, you feel like there’s already too much content out there.

too much content in the market

What more could you make and talk about that interests your regular readers like they’ve finally got something new to ponder?

It’s a tough job. It requires you to take a rest in between for breaks, rejuvenating your content strategy. Then, you should give ample time to data cleaning, analyzing, and picking up a trend in your niche. It’s irrespective of the levels of competition it is in.

But once you pick up a trend not visible to other bloggers or competitors, you can set a smooth sail for months to come. You can even go viral for bringing something new to the market in your chosen niche.

Yet, it’s not done in a day or an hour. It requires patience, an analytical mind, and foresight. But when you’re going through a mental and creative burnout situation, indecisiveness creeps in your mind first. You feel you can’t make any new content. You will put yourself in the pedestrian of self-doubt. Eventually, it tires you and wears you out.

Editing and proofreading the content is becoming a hassle for you.

Most signs to prove that you are going through a burnout phase include you being a procrastinator. You act like a lousy employee to the employer side of yours. In short, you feel reading your written content, editing, and proofreading is too much.

editing and proofreading is a hassle

You start thinking it can be done in a jiffy, yet you don’t get the necessary job for updating the blog/novel/ vlog.

It happens mostly because you lack motivation. Perhaps because you have been working in the same manner for writing and uploading your content tirelessly without breaks.

That course of action only leads to you feeling bored all the time. Then, you start delaying your core responsibilities as a blogger or writer, or content creator. And without editing and proofreading, you can do a messed-up task in content creation.

When that happens, the conversion rates dip even beyond the lowest mark possible to date on your site, blog, vlog, or sales.

You keep convincing yourself that one major idea will hit you soon.

Not indulging in the regular creative process is a big mistake. You will eventually feel tired and burnout if you don’t practice regularly. Taking breaks is necessary, but don’t make it an excuse to run away from your regular creative tasks.

And if you are already having a serious creative and mental burnout, this might happen regularly. You might start convincing yourself of an idea that may or might not hit you soon.

Most likely, it won’t. Because you are not even working your brain cells toward it. How will you then accomplish the task to create content that converts or brings your more sales successfully?

Conclusion:

These 5 signs to prove that you are going through a burnout phase are the most relatable ones amongst the young bloggers I have been in touch with. Your journey to a mental breakdown and burnout can also be by feeling out of space, and unmotivated.

Each individual has a different coping tactics mechanism. Broadly, those burnout phases come down to the signs I have discussed above. If you feel there’s something more to talk about your current burnout phase, like you are feeling too lazy or low to work on your content, do share.
